When Sophia Carlisle opened her small business in 1888, Grover Cleveland was sitting in the White House and nearly every woman of fashion was wearing an impressive hat. Nowadays hats have largely gone by the wayside, but women still demand beautiful fashions, especially on their wedding day, and Carlisle's Bridal of Pittsburgh is still here to meet the need.
Located across from the south entrance to Ross Park Mall, Carlisle's Bridal of Pittsburgh offers easy accessibility, FREE parking, and beautiful showroom all arranged on a single floor.

A Brief History of Our Business
Sophia Carlisle opens her business in 1888
Her apprentice, Marie, marries Sophia's son, Irwin, and continues designing custom veils and headpieces for the next 70 years
In the 1930s, Sophia's grandson, Harold Stokely, introduces bridal dresses and formal wear through weekly fashion shows
In 1966, Sophia's great-granddaughter, Betty Workman, starts learning the business and a few years later brings in her daughter, Jan Winner, to work in the stockroom
Today Betty is the firm's president and Jan is the store manager
